My photo
I am 38 and live with my husband and 2 little dogs called Tessa and Toby. We married in May 2010. I work as a care manager however have finally finished my 4 year social work degree and as long as I have passed I hope not to do any more study for quite a while lol....

Good Luck....

Hi all, hope you have had a great weekend.
Disaster struck this afternoon for me - my sewing machine went wrong!!!!!!!!!!
That is a disaster for me lol.... I only got the machine at Christmas and just love using it!
As it was a gift I have to wait for the receipt to arrive from my Dad, who is getting from my sister whose Christmas gift also went wrong a while back and they are on the same receipt!!!  Oh, and she is currently in Spain!   So I had a little tantrum and have resigned myself to life without my beloved sewing machine for a few weeks.....
On the plus side it didnt take as long to make the following card however everytime I look at it I cant help but think how much nicer it would look with some stitching on...... Oh well.....

This card is made with Alice from Saturated canary and coloured with copics.
I have used kraft card behind the papers which are My Minds Eye Miss Caroline Dolled Up.
The swirl is Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish and the butterflies are Cheery Lynn small butterflies.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Paper Sundaes - Lets Get Cute
Altered Alice - Inspired by Alice in Wonderland (the image is based on her)
One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes
The Secret Crafter - Inspired by a Film Title (Alice in Wonderland)
Delicious Doodles - Loads of Layers

I love the pink/kraft combo! My sewing machine has been broke for awhile now too. I think at this point it would cost less to just get something new...

Lovely card - hope you get your machine back soon. I must admit I only hand stitch on cards as I don't want to get glue and paper fibres in my machine. It is a really expensive one so would hate to see the repair bill if I gunged up the inner workings. I keep debating about buying a really really cheap one for papercrafting.

Hi Catherine

Disaster indeed!!!

I would hate to be without my sewing machine and would be just like you .. .. imagining my finished projects with a touch of stitching on!

That said, your card is beautiful anyway .. even without those stitches. Gorgeous colouring!

I hope you get your receipt quickly!!

Love Jules xx

Hi Catherine - well I also think it's a gorgeous card. Brilliant colouring and a great colour combo.

Your sewing machine did better than mine - I had mine for my birthday last year, I only used it twice and it broke!!

I couldn't take it back as the first time I used it was on my birthday, to test, and the next time was about 6 mths later!! So now it sits, all lonely, on a side and is gathering dust.

Hope you get yours back sooner!!!

Sarah
